내일을 향해 오늘을 쏴라!

 

누구나 내일을 꿈꿉니다. 더 나은 나, 더 따뜻한 하루, 더 환한 미래를 그립니다. 그러나 종종 우리는 피곤하고 지쳤다는 이유로, 혹은 ‘오늘 정도는 괜찮겠지’ 하며 오늘을 무심히 흘려보냅니다.

"하루쯤 누가 기억하겠어?"

"열심히 살았으니 며칠은 대충 살아도 되지 않겠어?"

​

이런 생각이 불쑥 떠오르는 날이 있습니다. 치열하게 살아낸 한 주의 끝, 금요일 저녁이면 저는 자주 그런 마음에 휘청입니다. 실제로 그렇게 하루를 흘려보내고 나면, 다시 처음의 마음으로 돌아오기까지 참 많은 노력이 필요하다는 걸 압니다. 반복되는 후회 속에서, 점점 자신감마저 낮아지는 나를 마주할 때가 있습니다. 그래서 저는 오늘도 이렇게 다짐의 글을 씁니다.

오늘은 흔한 하루처럼 보이지만, 다시는 돌아오지 않을 단 하루의 시간입니다. 그 무엇과도 바꿀 수 없는, 값진 시간이기도 합니다. 우리는 그 소중한 하루를 통해 내일의 재료를 마련합니다. 한 땀 한 땀 꿰매듯이, 삶은 그렇게 오늘 갓 뽑아낸 실로 내일을 지어냅니다.

성실하게 살아내고 지켜낸 오늘은 결코 헛되지 않습니다. 작은 성실이 쌓이고, 작은 배움이 이어질 때, 비로소 내일은 밝은 빛으로 돌아옵니다. 내일을 향해 오늘을 쏘는 일은 중심을 잡고 힘껏 삶의 시위를 당기는 일입니다. 그 활의 끝에는 우리가 바라는 희망이 담겨 있습니다.

그러므로 오늘을 살아갈 때, 우리의 선택이 곧 내일을 만든다는 사실을 잊지 말아야 합니다. 내일은 어느 날 갑자기 다가오는 운명이 아니라, 오늘 우리가 정성껏 살아낸 결과이기 때문입니다.

햇살이 지고 어둠이 찾아오는 저녁에도 우리는 여전히 내일을 위한 실을 뽑아낼 수 있습니다. 하루라는 시간이 온전히 저물 때까지 우리는 성실하고, 우리 자신에게 진실해야 합니다.

내일을 향해 오늘을 쏘는 사람은, 오늘을 사랑하는 사람입니다. 오늘을 사랑하는 사람은 결국 내일에게 사랑받는 사람입니다.

이 순간이 언젠가 가장 찬란했던 ‘어제’로 남기를 바랍니다.

Shoot Today for Tomorrow

​

Everyone dreams of tomorrow.

We picture a better version of ourselves, a warmer day, a brighter future.

But often, we let today slip by —

telling ourselves we're too tired,

or thinking, “Just for today, it's okay to let it go.”

​

"Who’s going to remember just one lazy day?"

"I’ve worked hard enough — surely I deserve a few careless days."

​

These kinds of thoughts suddenly come to mind.

At the end of a demanding week, especially on Friday evenings,

I often find myself wavering with such feelings.

​

And whenever I actually let a day pass by like that,

I realize how much effort it takes

to return to the mindset I had at the beginning.

In the cycle of repeated regrets,

I come face to face with a version of myself

whose confidence has slowly begun to fade.

​

That’s why I write this reflection again today —

as a promise to myself.

​

Today may seem like just another ordinary day,

but it is a day that will never return.

It is time far too valuable to be exchanged for anything else.

​

Through this one precious day,

we gather the materials needed for tomorrow.

Just like stitching one thread at a time,

life is pieced together with threads freshly spun from today.

​

A day lived sincerely and fully is never in vain.

When small acts of effort accumulate,

when small lessons continue to build,

tomorrow finally comes back to us in a brighter light.

​

To shoot today for tomorrow

is to steady ourselves and draw back the bowstring of life with strength.

At the tip of that arrow lies the hope we carry.

​

So when we live today,

we must not forget that the choices we make now

are the very foundation of our tomorrow.

​

Tomorrow is not a random twist of fate that arrives out of nowhere.

It is the result of how wholeheartedly we live today.

​

Even when the sun has set

and evening shadows begin to fall,

we can still spin the thread for tomorrow.

Until the very last moment of the day,

we must remain diligent —

and true to ourselves.

​

The person who shoots today for tomorrow

is someone who loves today.

And those who love today

will, in the end, be loved by tomorrow.

​

I hope this moment, someday,

will remain in memory

as the brightest yesterday.

​
